Roll Out The Red Carpet
I've been talking quite a bit about calculating your Kua number, locating your auspicious and inauspicious sectors and it probably makes sense to actually talk about the implications of these sectors.
In Eight Mansion Feng Shui, the positions of your front door, stove and bed are considered very important.
If your front door's located in an auspicious sector, you'll be inviting positive Chi into your house. It follows that if your front door is located in an inauspicous sector, you'll be inviting negative Chi (Sha) into your house.
So what can you do to mitigate the negative effects of Sha if your front door happens to be in an inauspicious sector? Believe it or not, the humble carpet can actually do just that.
Before you roll out the carpet, you first need to determine the nature of the Sha.
If the head of the household belongs to the East Group (Kua numbers 1, 3, 4, 5[Male] or 9), his or her inauspicious sectors will be West, Northwest, Southwest and Northeast.
Specifically, for a East Group person, if the front door is in the West or Northwest sector, the house will invite Sha of a Metal nature. And if the front door is in the Southwest or Northeast sector, the house will invite Sha of an Earth nature.
If the head of the household belongs to the West Group (Kua numbers 2, 5[Female], 6, 7, 8), his or her inauspicious sectors will be East, South, North and Southeast.
Specifically, for a West Group person, if the front door is in the East or Southeast sector, the house will invite Sha of a Wood nature. And if the front door is in the South sector, the house will invite Sha of a Fire nature. Finally if the front door is in the North sector, the house'll invite Sha of a Water nature.
The way to mitigate Sha is to employ the principle of the Cycle of Destruction of the Five Elements.
Fire destroys Metal. And since the colors Red and Purple signify Fire, place a red or purple door mat at your front door to mitigate Sha of a Metal nature.
Wood destroys Earth. Since the color Green signifies Wood, place a green door mat at your front door to mitigate Sha of an Earth nature.
Water destroys Fire. The colors Black and Blue signify Water. Therefore place a black or blue door mat at your front door to mitigate Sha of a Fire nature.
Earth destroys Water. Since the colors Yellow and Brown signify Earth, place a yellow or brown door mat at your front door to mitigate Sha of a Water nature.
Metal destroys Wood. The color White signifies Metal. Hence, place a white door mat at your front door to mitigate Sha of a Wood nature.
